heavy hearts...

"When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure."

"Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal."

Today has been a sad day for us. My dad let me know that my cousin had passed away last night. We kind of knew it was coming so it was not a sudden thing but that didn't take the pain away from losing a cousin. I had not see J in quite some time but the memories are there! I will always remember her for her amazing smile and a laugh that was contagious! I rememeber high heels were broken at her wedding, play times at my grandparents house, road trips to see my aunt and uncle and my cousin was there at times and so many other things! She was an amazing lady and like I said could light up the room with her spunk, smile and laugh! She will be missed and life ended to early for her but we know she is with her Jesus. We celebrate J's life and all she was and the life she lived. She truly was a blessing and a ray of life!
Please be praying for my aunt, uncle, her brother, sister and 4 children as they walk through this difficult journey. Please also pray for the rest of our family as well.

We were able to celebrate life in a different way today. My friends had their baby Z about 10 days ago. I was able to sneak over to the hospital the day after she was born but Ben really wanted to see her! We went over there today and had a great time! I asked Ben on the way if he was going to hold her and he said he would. He never had been an infant guy (he has always said he will be fine with our babies) so it surprised me that he said yes. When it came time our friend A asked if he wanted to hold her and Ben said, "no, because I don't want to hurt her!" After Ben was reassured that he would not hurt her he agreed! He LOVED it and kept staring at her! I think he got so cozy that it looked like he would fall asleep himself!

I am so sorry about your loss. Hang in there. I have never commented before but have followed you through a lot of your journey (maybe a year?) I just wanted to say when I saw these pics with this baby my tears started flowing. I hope and pray someday to see pics of the two of you with your own baby. You look like naturals at the family thing. I know this journey has been hard but God knows what he is doing and it won't all be for nothing. (((((hugs)))))

One day that will be you and Ben holding your very own baby...don't let go of that dream. Psalms 37:4, Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart. God gives us our desires and our dreams...He knows your hearts' cry. One day that will be you and Ben with your own precious one :).

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your cousin. I can feel your love you had for her through your words, and heart is heavy for you. My love and prayers go out to your family.

Ben looks like a natural infant lover in these pictures. He looks so comfortable and so happy holding the baby, a little princess :)

Ben and Katie,
I've just spent the past three hours pouring over your blog for the very first time. Although we have never met, I feel like I know you both. I have wept and laughed and I have gone over your journey.
First of all... All I can say is WOW! Katie, I'm so proud of you. In an age where marriage is not as sacred as it should be, you have defied the odds and have chosen to honor Our King and your husband! I'm so impressed. You have brought inspiration to my heart. To be a better wife and mother.

Thanks for sharing your journey and your heart in the form of a blog for strangers to stumble upon and be reminded of the goodness of our God.

I'm joining you in believing for a complete healing for Ben. I know my God is able. And I'm confident in this very thing, that He who began a good work in you, will be faithful to complete it until the day of Christ Jesus!! Phil 1:6
