You have such a beautiful family! Happy Thanksgiving!
My Dear Girl, What a beautiful family. Thank you for sharing so much of your life with me/us. I have many favorite pictures. A couple of them are Ben reading to Cruz, and Cruz holding his finger...precious. Cruz looks to be hanging on every word his daddy is saying. I love you and am grateful for being a part of your life.

So precious! Especially love the one with Ben reading to him. He looks like he is paying close attention. Happy Thanksgiving :)
Thank you for sharing your pictures! Your family is beautiful - Ben has such contentment in his expression, it is awesome!
Oh my goodness, he is such a perfect little human! Ben looks like he's in pure bliss in those pics:) You look beautiful as always and I can't even imagine how busy and exhausting taking care of your little family must be...but so rewarding too.
Hi Katie! My name is Taryn and I met you at the VA hospital in Palo Alto. You and Ben were in the room next to ours. I was there with my husband Mike who had viral encephalitis of the brain. We didn't have much interaction and I regret I didn't get to know you all better, but I will never forget your kindness. You first introduced yourself to me the day we arrived and I was alone in the room crying. Mike had been battling this virus for over a month and it was the first time I had been alone with my thoughts. I was sleep deprived, scared, vulnerable...basically physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually exhausted (feelings unfortunately that were not uncommon in that hospital). You poked your head into my room and asked if I was ok, offered yourself as someone I could talk to, then left with a warm smile. That seemingly small gesture meant so much to me. I was feeling so alone and it was nice to know someone else could relate to what was going on inside me.
Fast forward almost 5 years later and I find a piece of paper while decluttering the house with your information on it including this website. When the first thing I saw was your beautiful baby boy I instantly started to cry tears of joy. To see how far you all have come made me indescribably happy. I don't know you well at all, but I can confidently tell you how amazing of a person you are. You have selflessly gone above and beyond for your family. I looked up to and prayed for your level of strength. I just thought you should know that.
On a side note my husband Mike has made almost a full recovery. He still has some issues with short term memory, but that's why God gave me a photographic one :) He has since been deployed to Afghanistan, gotten out of the Air Force, accepted a job with American Airlines, and welcomed our first baby girl in May!
I wish you and your family the best!
With love,
Taryn Thompson
